COCONUT CHUTNEY-METHOD 2

Ingredients:

List 1:

2 tsp oil

1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp urid dal (uddina bele, black gram split)
1/4 tsp chana dal(kadale bele)
Few curry leaves
Pinch of ingu

List 2:

1 cup coconut, chopped
5-6 green chillies
1 small lemon size tamarind
1 tsp ginger and garlic paste
1/4 cup coriander leaves
Salt to taste

Method:

  • Mix all the ingredients in list 2 and grind in a blender to make a paste of medium consistency.
  • Heat oil in a saucepan.
  • Add mustard seeds.
  • When the seeds splatter, add curry leaves, chana dal, urid dal and ingu.
  • When gram colour changes to light brown, remove from gas.
  • Add the paste and mix well.
  • Serve with dosa or idli.
